PLANT-BASED PRODUCT

In this part of the blog, we want to explain to you why we choose a vegetable product, related to the environment impact of this product.

Only vegetable ingredients are better because :

  • Animal foods are a greater input of resources and contribute to deforestation and biodiversity loss, than plant-based foods.
  • For example, The meat and dairy industries : use 1/3 of the Earth’s fresh water.
  • U.S. Food and Agriculture Organization said : “The meat industry has a marked impact on a general global scale on water, soils, extinction of plants and animals, and consumption of natural resources, and it has a strong impact on global warming.”
  • Reduce Greenhouse gases : 70% by shifting to a plant-based diet by 2050. The United Nations Environment Programme says that “animal products, both meat and dairy, in general require more resources and cause higher emissions than plant-based alternatives.”
  • The World Health Organization says, “Reducing livestock herds would also reduce emissions of methane, which is the second largest contributor to global warming after carbon dioxide.”
  • 57% of GHG from food comes from meat and only 29% are related to plant-based foods.
